Piazza Venezia is also notable for its proximity to the Altare della Patria (Altar of the Fatherland), a monumental structure honoring Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of unified Italy.

Palazzo Venezia
Palazzo Venezia is a historic building situated on the western side of Piazza Venezia. It was initially constructed in the mid-15th century as a papal residence by Cardinal Pietro Barbo, who later became Pope Paul II. The palazzo is an excellent example of early Renaissance architecture and features a beautiful courtyard, grand halls, and intricate decorations.

Throughout its history, Palazzo Venezia has served various purposes, including housing the Venetian embassy and, later, the Austrian embassy. It gained particular historical significance in the 20th century when it became the office and residence of Benito Mussolini during his rule. Today, the palazzo houses the Museo di Palazzo Venezia, which displays a vast collection of art, artifacts, and historical items
